Handed Brake Blocks for 7¼" NG & 10¼" Standard Scale - Pack of 4
Product Details
Brand: PNP Railways

Left and right-handed brake blocks are designed to be used on wheel sets where the wheels are close together. They are handed because the hanger position is below centre to allow room for sets of blocks to be fitted to close coupled wheel sets. An example being PNP Railways Loco Mount Kilimanjaro. These brake blocks are specifically designed to fit on the left or right side of the wheel, and cannot be used interchangeably.

PNP Railways Handed Brake Blocks

  • Designed to suit the larger 7¼” Narrow Gauge, 10¼” Standard Scale (10″ diameter wheel but will suit a wheel from 8″ to 12″)
  • Sold as a set of 4 - 2 Left & 2 Right Hand Blocks
  • Approx. Dimensions: Length - 85.50mm, Width - 22mm with a 5.50mm opening.
  • The blocks are supplied ready to fit, only requiring the pin hole to be drilled
  • The brake blocks are injection moulded in a grade of nylon which is filled with glass beads to a level of 40%. These beads are very small and provide the braking medium with the plastic acting as a carrier.
  • The blocks have proved themselves to be very effective at braking and also thoroughly clean wheel treads of dirt and practically any traces of aluminium.
  • It is important to remember to periodically inspect the blocks and replace as needed to ensure that the brakes are functioning properly and can effectively slow down or stop the train in the event of an emergency.
