Rail Clips

The PNP Railway 'Rail Clip' draws inspiration from full-sized counterparts, tailored for practical model use. Instead of steel, our rail clips are manufactured from a durable polymer. The screw hole features a tapered design, starting small at the top and widening towards the bottom. This clever configuration enables the clip to tilt smoothly without binding on the fixing screw.

At the rear edge of the clip, two grip ridges are moulded in to securely grip a sole plate or sleeper, preventing slippage. If the rail section permits, clips of equal length can be utilized, ensuring a snug fit in the chosen sole plate. Alternatively, different length clips can be paired to accommodate the specific rail section while still maintaining a snug fit.

When used directly on a sleeper without a sole plate, these clips excel in staying in position and resisting lateral forces, thanks to the grip ridges. The coned hole facilitates applying the clips at a slightly elevated angle on the rail side, enhancing their clamping effectiveness. These versatile components enable the construction of a robust, long-lasting, and low-maintenance railway.

The PNP Railways Rail Clips are available in three sizes: 6mm, 8mm, and 10mm (clamping area). Manufactured from an exceptionally resilient polymer, these rail clips are well-suited to bear the loads imposed by the fastening screws. They can be used independently or in conjunction with a sole plate.

All plastic sleepers and rail fixings in the PNP Railways range are manufactured from high-grade engineering polymers that are extremely durable and resistant to rot, frost, and UV radiation. UV stabilizers are added to the base polymers to help prevent UV radiation degradation and extend the life of the products.
